The town of Salta in Argentina is living in abject fear after several sightings of a gnome like creature that locals claim stalks the streets at night.
Now while I’m sure that this is one of those ‘You had to be there’ moments of horror, it strikes me as odd that these people are living in abject fear of something that barely comes up to their knees.
As with any paranormal videos people are claiming this is just an elaborate hoax. Though I’ve never spotted a gnome per se, many a time when i’ve ventured out past midnight in Northern England I have seen something remarkably similar. Though up there we have a name for such situations – drunk and disorderly. Yes, a pissed scouser with a traffic cone on his head might quite as mystical as the vertically challenged equivalent they have in South America but I can guarantee that they’re a lot more dangerous. Clearly this oompa loompa was just having some drunken banter by himself in tall grass, and fair play to him.
Teenager Jose Alvarez, who filmed the gnome, yesterday told national newspaper El Tribuno that they caught the creature while larking about in their hometown of General Guemes, in the province of Salta, Argentina.
“One of my friends was so scared after seeing that thing that we had to take him to the hospital.”
What the hell was he admitted into hospital for, a bad attack of the vaginas? If its the same guy who squeals towards the end of the video they should invest some extra time and have his undescended testicles examined while hes in there.
I was in Salta about two years ago. Thankfully back then it wasn’t ruled under the icy claw of midget wearing a pointed hat. As we appreciate that Brits like to travel we felt that it was important to gauge the reaction to the incident over here in the UK, and there is no finer way to measure the pulse of a nation than a Youtube comments box.
