There are so many things going on in the World today.

The Chinese are threatening to create increased global tensions by infiltrating computers all around the world with a ’spy’ bug.

There has been not one, but two further revelations of rape and incest in Italy and Columbia, similar to the Fritzl case.

Combine this with bursting North Dakota dams and US Iran negotiations, the choice headline for many of the UK tabloids was slightly misplaced.

For those of you who haven’t indulged in the latest British scandal involving MP Jacqui Smith (Home Secretary) and her husband Richard Timney, I will summarise.

Recently there have been big questions posed regarding personal expenses of MP’s paid for by the taxpayer. Usually these questions are raised by the Daily Express, with the front page headline reading something like

“MP EXPOSED SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED CASH! PUBLIC LYNCHING 2PM TOMORROW, BRING CAKE.”

Diana conspiracy XVII; The Queen did it. Page 5.

What brings the British public out onto the streets with pitchforks and torch flames faster, than a good old MP scandal. Only one thing, and that’s the same scandal combined with any sort of seedy illicit taboo.

Mark Oaten famously quit frontline politics over revelations of an affair with a rent boy and this dominated the headlines for days. Such a spectacular fall from grace, be it from celebrity or political fame, satisfies the appetite of the average UK citizen. And if its combined with a loss of social status, job or in this case dignity; then all the better.

Timney has caused outrage throughout the country by spending a tenner on some sneaky Virgin Media porno, then attempting to charge this to the UK taxpayer through his wife’s expenses account. The fact that Smith is currently being investigated for her questionable claimants manages to generate considerably less column inches. Smith has claimed a staggering £116,000 in second home allowances, and £20,000 of this is a result of Smith falsely claiming that her primary house was one she shared with her sister in Central London. In a word; DIE LIES!

That an MP is cheating the taxpayer out of thousands of pounds appears to be generally accepted throughout the United Kingdom. £116,000? No biggy. £10 on porn charged to the taxpayer by a mistake? DEATH TO THE INFIDEL

What he really should be villified for is what also appeared on the monthly Virgin bill. The bill also included two viewings of the film Ocean’s 13 – at £3.75 each – and one of Surf’s Up, which cost £3.50.

Two viewings of Oceans 13? Surely that’s more embarrassing, that film was tosh.
